Two Sweet Recipes!

Naughty, naughty boy.. Supposed to be eating ‘healthy' … Temptations…I had the privilege to try two recipes sent by my friend Jo Bird. I'll say no more, delicious, DELICIOUS. Read below and please share your recipe so the community can try it 😀

Home made chocolates (be very careful – so tempting!)


250g/ 8oz milk powder full fat

125g/4oz butter

150ml/quarter pint water

40g/1.5oz Cocoa powder

150g/5oz sugar

2 packs Vanilla sugar

100g/3.5oz walnuts in small pieces (optional)


Put the sugar, vanilla sugar and water in a pan on the hob, on medium heat. After the sugar melts and water starts to boil reduce the heat and let it boil for 5 minutes, not more.

Take it off the hob and add the butter, partly melted.

In a bowl mix the powder milk with cocoa and put the mixture through a sieve, to make sure there are no lumps.

After the butter is completely mixed with the sugary syrup, slowly add the milk powder and cocoa mixture continuously blending all together. The chocolate has the tendency to get hard very quickly, so you'll have to be quite fast. After everything is well mixed and blended, the walnuts can be added.

Pour the chocolate mixture into a tray (about 18×12 cm) lined with cling film and leave it into a cool place (not in the fridge) for about 3-4 hours. It can be cut into pieces after that.


Lime and chilli sorbet


Serves 6

200g/7oz sugar

275ml/half pint water

Juice of 4 lemons and 6 limes

Finely grated zest of 4 limes

2 birds eye chillies. De-seeded and chopped.


Put sugar and water in a pan and heat to dissolve sugar, simmer for 5 mins.

Add lemon and lime juice.

Allow to cool then put in freezer proof container.

Freeze, but every 2 hrs (about 3 times) stir it up to break up the ice crystals.
